1-0 out of 5 stars Incredibly poor condition.Should not have been sold!
Every page of this used book had crayon and marker scribbles on it.So bad, in fact, there were pages that were unreadable.I was so upset.I had planned to use this classic story for my Preschool.Instead I have an unusable book.

5-0 out of 5 stars What a great series
My almost 3 year old loves the Virginia Mueller "monster books".Monsters are not scary when you see them as a family - a little boy with two younger sisters.Monsters are no longer frightening when they get the hiccups or are sent to bed when they aren't ready. We love these books and are dissappointed that the older ones are out of print. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars This is One of the Best Math Textbooks I Have Ever Had!
I really enjoyed this textbook. The authors of this book really did a good job making you enjoy math.I used to hate math, but this book was anexception. They greatly explain theorems and other things so you won't getconfused. One way I liked this book was its many math related photos. Also if you are confused on a lesson they have answers in the back in thebook to help you to check your work or give you answers to things you arestruggling in.They also have in class lessons so you can understand theconcepts you are about to learn in the lesson and homework. They alsogreatly explain how to do proofs, and everything that involves trianglesand trionometry to statistics and functions. They give you reviews andself-tests with all the answers in the back of the book so you can masterthe information you have just learned in the chapter. Also, I recommendthis to anyone who loves math, anyone who is ok or great in math, or anyonewho justs wants to learn trigonometry. Finally, all the teachers I haveever had me use UCSMP this book have always loved the books, the materialthat the studnets grasp easily, and the benefits that the book gives overother textbooks. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Opression
The purpose of the book Many Thousand Gone by Virginia Hamilton is to teach others about the many struggles slaves went through and how some people were kind hearted enough to help.

Virginia intended this book for many audiences. She wanted everyone to know about the slavery times.

This book has many stories from the beginning to when slaves were brought over from Africa, to Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation, and when the Union enlisted black troops.

I would recommend this book to anyone because it is very informative, interesting, and thorough in its descriptions in what slaves went through.

5-0 out of 5 stars OUTSTANDING book about Africa and relating it us!
I am homeschooling my two young girls and we are studying the continent of Africa.I do a LOT of reading reviews and researching the books before I buy.Luckily, I chanced upon Masai and I and was so enthralled when I received it, that I have to say no child should be without this book!If you are looking to have your child understand another culture and somehow relate it to them -- THIS IS THE BOOK FOR YOU -- no matter what country/continent/culture is your focus. The little girl ponders about how her day would go if she lived in a culture so remote in lifestyle. It really makes you appreciate our conveniences, yet brings us to respect and reflect on how that must be to live so differently. But remember, we do have a tremendous amount in common with each other simply because we are human.Imagine what it would be like to live in someone else's shoes for one day! Then buy this book; it is truly a gem!

5-0 out of 5 stars My third-graders love it!
I use this as a trade book during our study of Kenya. It is a great tool for comparing our society with theirs. The text is age-appropriate and is enhanced by the beautiful illustrations. My students love to read it againand again!

4-0 out of 5 stars An excellent book when comparing cultures.
