"Transformative Justice: This Land is My Land, Too!" is scheduled to coincide with the Birmingham International Festival's 2003 Salute to Canada. The Festival is the oldest organization in America to celebrate the cultures of other countries. Its annual salutes further the joint mission of our three organizations to present in Birmingham significant international programs that address themes of justice and reconciliation in civil and human rights issues.

C A M Commonwealth Association of Museums GENERAL INFORMATION PURPOSE The Commonwealth Association of Museums is a professional organization supported by The Commonwealth Foundation in London, United Kingdom. Its objectives are: to maintain and strengthen links between museums and members of the museum profession in the Commonwealth, to promote a high standard of museum activity, and to improve the status of members in the cultural life of their communities to encourage and assist members to obtain additional training and experience by a distance learning program and other means, and to facilitate personal contacts to facilitate the dissemination of knowledge and information on all professional matters to collaborate with and encourage the establishment of national museums associations to collaborate with ICOM, UNESCO, and other appropriate international organizations A major focus continues to be the relevance of museums to their communities and societies and attention to contemporary issues within the overall context of cultural and natural heritage. DEVELOPMENT GOVERNANCE AND MEETINGS The Association is governed by an Executive Council consisting of a President, two Vice-Presidents, a Secretary, Treasurer, and six Council members. A General Assembly is held every three years and other meetings take place as programs develop. The general membership is informed through the newsletter and the Executive Council may meet once between Assemblies.
