During the period of 1873 to 1876, Monet's versatility is apparent in the disparity between his brilliant paintings and his others in very neutral tones. Monet's early work portrayed objects, figures and scenes as he saw them, but in his later work, he excluded the human figure. Hardly any figures or portraits are part of Monet's work between 1879 and 1885.Monet never painted a nude.
