After being one of the few Palsian survivors of the bloodbath battle that commences during the introduction, Arislan, with the help of his protector Daryoon, seeks refuge and allies to recapture the kingdom of Palse and its capital, Ekubatana. His idealistic goals influence his radical decisions (the abolition of slavery, for instance) that help some and shock many.
