Been there, done that time to move on!
The GI cartoonist, Bill Mauldin has always been one of my favorites. This was a tribute to his great sense of humor in a world that was, for a time at least, not so great

Preserving Cartoon Art:
Some Suggestions for Cartoonists
and Collectors
Drawing cartoons
The most important thing a cartoonist can do to provide physical longevity for his or her work is to use the highest quality materials appropriate for the job. All-rag illustration board may not be necessary for every drawing, but it will remain in good condition much longer than ordinary photocopy paper. The same can be said for inks: India ink is more durable than the ink from felt-tip pens. If a soft medium such as conte crayon or pastels is used, it should be fixed carefully. If corrections need to be made, do not use cellophane or “magic” tapes because they will eventually discolor and leave a glue residue. Avoid rubber cement, too, because it inevitably turns brown with age. White water-soluble glue is preferable and is available either as a glue stick or as a liquid. Sticky notes should never be used on original art because they also leave a glue residue. Some cartoonists are self-conscious about their drawings and erase all of their preliminary sketches from the inked drawing. From a historical perspective, such roughs give documentation of the creative process.

FACULTY OF ART, SCHOOL OF CARTOON AND COMIC ART
T he objective of KSU's School of Cartoon and Comic Art is to promote excellence in new generations of cartoonists. We aim to help them develop not only sharp eyes for the quirks of human behaviour, and high levels of artistic technique, but also to gain a thorough grounding in the history of cartooning, together with an up-to-date perspective on cartoon media. Cartoon Art Course We teach our students a form of expression based on the twin concepts of reduction to essentials, and strong emphasis. Each cartoon must satisfy three functions: specificality, satire, and a sense of exaggeration. We aim to instill a deep understanding of the origins of manga, through building an appreciation of its history, and also to develop artistic ability characterized by deep sensitivity and creativity. Our curriculum begins with a strong emphasis on drawing, from animals and human beings, in both first and second year. By third year, we move on to caricature, while continuing to draw from animals, also introducing woodblock, brush drawing, and graphic design, to expand students' horizons. In fourth year they consolidate on their three previous years to produce graduation works.
Studios
The School of Cartoon and Comic Art building, the Jizai-kan, opened in April 2000. Working studios with personal desks are provided for students of each year. A number of special studios are set up for computer graphics and recording equipment for animation. In addition to drawing, expression via other media is encouraged.
