Grand Cayman is the largest of the islands with a total area of 195 square kilometers. Cayman Brac, 142 kilometers northeast of Grand Cayman, is only 20 kilometers long by 2 kilometers wide. Little Cayman, eight kilometers west of Cayman Brac, is sixteen kilometers by two kilometers in size. The total land area of the three islands is 260 square kilometers, or approximately that of Austin, Texas.

In particular, she is interested in reconstructing climate and environmental conditions during the Quaternary using a combination of Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry (TIMS) and stable isotope analysis of speleothems (chemical deposits in caves).
