Here is a quick overview on Central African Republic.
Wild animals and an abundance of fish make hunting and fishing very popular here. It is also a great place to visit if you love waterfalls. Of special interest would be the falls of Kembe and Boali, the megaliths of Bouar, and the Pygmies at Mongoumba.

RESPECT FOR HUMAN RIGHTS Section 1 Respect for the Integrity of the Person, Including
Freedom From a. Political and Other Extrajudicial Killing Security forces continued to commit extrajudicial killings, including government-approved executions of suspected bandits and killings reportedly committed for political reasons by members of the presidential guard. There also were credible reports of deaths of prisoners due to police abuse. Some detainees died as a result of torture (see Section 1.c.). The Government tacitly approved the actions taken by the police squad to reduce armed robbery; it never has prosecuted members of the security forces for these extrajudicial killings. Police and security forces are immune from prosecution for extrajudicial killings. On February 5, armed bandits attacked a vehicle transporting religious personnel, killing one nun and wounding another (see Sections 1.c, 2.d., and 5). The Government conducted a full investigation into the incident; however, it did not result in any arrests or indictments by year's end.

iWon Travel Africa : Central African Republic Powered by DESTINATION CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC (Click to view map) The Central African Republic (CAR) has possibly the most pristine national park in the whole of Africa, where pygmies guide you through forest that's the domain of forest elephants and rare lowland gorillas. Dense rainforests explode in riots of colorful butterflies, and out on the plains you can spot elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos and a host of other animals you won't see outside of a zoo at home. The towns and cities have bustling markets, palm and banana wine for sale by the side of the roads, green hills and giraffes close by, and beer halls to do a Bavarian proud. Unfortunately, the CAR has succumbed to decades of political chaos and poverty. In the cities, muggings, petty theft and police extortion are commonplace. The countryside has become so lawless that the government recently closed all its land borders to foreigners. The roads are crumbling and the best national park is so far out of the way and so difficult to get to it's infuriating. Nevertheless, if you want to get away from the Africa of souvenir sellers and slick willy tour operators, and you're prepared to keep your wits about you at all times, the CAR might be the place for you.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE SWAHILI LANGUAGE
The Swahili language, is basically of Bantu (African) origin but with strong Arab and Persian influence. There are two schools of thought regarding the history of the Swahili language. There are those that assert that the language came about as a result of Arabs and Persians coming to the East African coast and those that maintain that the language was spoken in East Africa before the coming of Arabs and Persians. The former school asserts that many centuries ago Persians used to sail to the East African coast for trade - most likely bringing salt, beads and garments which were bartered with ivory and other goods. The Persian voyages would at the beginning only end in the southern part of Somalia in such towns as Kismayu. Being all male, they easily intermarried with the local Africans, the Bantu people. After a few generations the product of the intermarriages gave rise to a new culture and language which was Persian-Bantu but more leaning towards Bantu. Later in history, Arabs also started to come to East Africa for trade and they had an influence on the already formed Persian-Bantu culture. When they intermarried with the Persian-Bantu people a very unique culture, the Swahili culture, resulted. Hence the Swahili culture and language, according to this school of thought, has roots from Persians, Arabs and the Bantu people of the East African Coast. The word "Swahili" is an Arabic word which means, "of (from) the coast" or "people of the coast". Many Swahili words were derived from Arabic and Persian languages. However, the Bantu words dominate by far.
