How to Apply for Scholarships Academic, athletic and fine arts scholarships

Academic, athletic and fine arts scholarships are awarded each year to deserving high school seniors. Our scholarships range from $500 to full tuition awards. The application for admission is the only document needed to compete for academic scholarships. Athletic and fine arts scholarships are offered upon recommendation from the appropriate coach or faculty member. All scholarships are subject to the College renewal standards. Other grants and scholarships
Other grants and scholarships are available for students who meet certain criteria. The following represent the awards and criteria required for consideration:
  • Culver-Stockton Academic Scholarships ($500 - full tuition) Based upon high school record, ACT or SAT scores, class rank, and GPA. The application for admission is the only document needed to compete for these scholarships. Pillars for Excellence (full tuition) The highest academic honor bestowed upon a Culver-Stockton College Student, our Pillars for Excellence scholarship is a renewable four-year academic scholarship for full tuition at initial time of enrollment. To be eligible for the Pillars for Excellence competition a student must have two of the following: 26 ACT, 3.6 GPA, top 15% (minimum of 23 ACT). In addition, all applicants must apply by January 1, 2002 and compete in our annual Pillars for Excellence competition on the Culver-Stockton College campus on February 2, 2002. Winners will be selected based upon their high school record, board scores, personal statement, interview and personal qualities. Eight awards are offered each year in this highly competitive program. This scholarship is renewable with a 3.2 cumulative GPA or above.

How to Apply for Financial Aid
Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) in order to be eligible for loan, Pell grant, Missouri Grant, and need-based aid. This form is available at your high school, at financial aid offices, or on-line at www.fafsa.ed.gov . FAFSA's can be filed after January 1, 2000. In order for Culver-Stockton to receive the results of the FAFSA the school code of 002460 must be added to the FAFSA application. E-Estimator
During the months of September, 2002 through January, 2003, applicants can file an electronic financial aid estimator to determine approximate eligibility. For students attending the College's partner schools, application forms are available in their schools. For all other applicants, details of application procedures and admission forms are available from the College. As the College is regularly over-subscribed, early application is advised. In the Autumn and Spring Terms Open Evenings are held, when staff and students are on hand to provide detailed information on all courses and other aspects of College life. Information Evenings are also held on a regular basis at which the Principal gives a presentation and senior staff are available to advise on the application procedure.
Interview
Following receipt of a completed application form and a satisfactory reference an interview is arranged, to which both student and parents are invited. The interview is seen as an opportunity for all parties to discuss a student's prospective course and for the student and parents to discover more about the College. Enrolment
Successful applicants are invited to the College for an Introductory Day. A final decision about the subjects to be taken will be made at enrolment in late August / early September after examination results are known.

The following online application allows you to complete the application form and write your statement of purpose. However, before your application can be deemed complete, you must: 1. Send a $30 application fee to the Admissions Office (please make checks payable to Christendom College Admissions Office). 2. Submit at least two letters of recommendation; preferably one from an ecclesiastical authority as well as from a former professor attesting to the applicant's qualifications and ability to pursue graduate studies, or from a supervisor with whom the applicant has worked. 3. Once you have completed and proofed your application and have all the supporting documents, submit it to Ms. Howard. She will not accept your application piecemail. She will forward your application, recommendations, secondary school report and a transcript to the university or college. Submit all forms and requests at one time. It is much easier for your College Advisor to do several forms at one time for you than one each week. Watch your deadlines closely. Additionally, it is your responsibility to obtain recommendations from your teachers and ask them to forward the recommendation to Ms. Howard. Give all paperwork to Ms. Howard at least two weeks in advance of the deadline. Standardized Test Scores
You are responsible for sending your official ACT or SAT scores the the university. This can be done in two ways. Either fill in the college code on the actual test registration packet before you tae either test or obtain an Additional Score Report (ASR) from the Guidance Center and submit it directly to ETS or ACT. ASRs cost $7 per college it is being sent to. Many colleges do not consider scores submitted by the high school as official.

If you are applying for multiple degrees, then complete an additional form for each degree. An additional $5 fee is required for each additional degree. Return the completed form(s) with the appropriate payment amount either directly to the Cashiers Office or by mail to the Cashiers Office at the address listed below.
