I was knocking back shots and beers in anticipation of our ALCOHOLICS UNANIMOUS set later that night. A fella plopped down onto the stool next to me.."Hey Whiskey REBEL" he said...I saw your RANCID VAT gig here last month. I heard you played in ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS (sic...it's UNANIMOUS you stupid, illiterate ass!!) too. Lemme buy you a shot brother!!" He bought me a shot and I drank it back and thanked him. I looked the dude over. He was decked out in black leather..had a couple tattoo's and wore a trimmed beard...he looked exactly like dozens of Nick's patrons .. I didn't recognize him at all. He babbled in my ear for awhile..I couldn't really hear what he was saying and frankly didn't care what he had to say. Anyway, I excused myself after a while to go set up the merchandise table. I forgot about the guy. The warmup band was a duo that played kickass, hilarious blue grass tunes...their songs were f*****g funny...usually the lyrics concerned boozing, adultery, truck driving...pie snatching..FUN subjects. I was really enjoying their set when I felt a tap on my shoulder.
