Rev. Martin Shaugnessy SJ, Moderator Every Wednesday after school, members of the Current Events and Weather Club meet to discuss issues of interest. Using video, newspapers, magazines and internet sources, we discuss local, national and world issues and problems. The students become aware of important issues and members of this club have participated in the Connecticut Geographic Olympiad held each year at the University of Connecticut. We have added a new dimension to our club - the weather - because it is important in everyone's life. Topics such as hurricanes, tornadoes, typhoons, and snow storms come up for discussion whenever relevant, especially during their appropriate seasons. We hope to develop this new interest by using the internet and other sources to learn how to better understand and predict the weather.

Site Map Current Projects In response to increased traffic flows the Vedder Interchange is going to receive an extensive facelift. Chilliwack-Kent MLA Barry Penner, Chilliwack-Sumas MLA John Les and Chilliwack Mayor Clint Hames announced $12.4-million worth of improvements, including upgrading of the bridge to four lanes. Construction on a new multiplex arena is to start soon. Under an agreement with the City, the Chiefs Development Group will build and operate the facility. It will include a 3,500-seat spectator arena plus a second rink for community use.
