The program will feature the Dirty Dozen Brass Band and the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company. Allison Boudreaux, chair of CAC, said the band and the dance company combined to create a program called "When the Spirit Moves." She explained that after sending CAC an album of its music, the band presented the committee with the idea. "We really loved their sound, and it just happened they coupled with this dance program. We just jumped on it," she said. "It combines dance and music, which are our two main focuses as the Cultural Attractions Committee." According to a press release, the performance will consist of "a series of vignettes celebrating the lineage and essence from which these two uniquely American forms of contemporary art emerged." "The Dirty Dozen Brass Band is one of the top jazz bands form New Orleans," Boudreaux said. "They've been here to Knoxville several times and I've heard many good things about them."
