Set in the framework of a six lesson study of the Animal Kingdom, we will use many online resources to study ten animals, learning about habitat, diet, classification, behavior and more. I have set the class up as if you were a child taking the class, so that you can get a feel for the flow of the lessons. Parents may take this course online with their children, however, children under 13 are not permitted to enroll or participate in this class alone. Children can only take this online course with an adult. Students will enjoy the teaching technique, but this course should serve to educate the parents, educators, and homeschoolers about how the internet can be an effective teaching tool.

A SIECUS Study on Training and Preparation for HIV/AIDS Prevention and Sexuality Education (Published in the SIECUS Report, Volume 28, Number 2 - December 1995/January 1996) The teaching of comprehensive sexuality education from kindergarten through 12th grade begins with the proper training of the teachers. Too often, they do not have the skills, knowledge, or inclination to teach such courses. Few have received training in sexuality education, and even fewer have received certification as sexuality educators. Colleges and universities need to provide training in HIV/AIDS prevention and sexuality education for pre-service teachers, and must ensure that this training is comprehensive. To assess such efforts, SIECUS developed this study of undergraduate teacher preparation programs and their ability to provide sexuality education based on the six key concepts outlines in its Guidelines for Comprehensive Sexuality Education: Kindergarten - 12th Grade. These concepts are human development, relationships, personal skills, sexual behavior, sexual health, and society and culture.

    Mission Statement:
The mission of the Home Economics Careers and Technology Unit is to provide high quality leadership and assistance to California high schools in order to improve student performance and to prepare students to be positive, productive members of families, the work force, and the global community.
The reality of California's competitive job market is that employees must have the education and training employers require. Home Economics Related Occupations (HERO) programs teach students solid employment skills to get - and succeed in - jobs in some of the state's fastest growing industries.
Specialized training in " career pathways " allows students to explore and pursue careers options in eight different areas.
The depth and variety of the program's curriculum allows students to then secure entry-level jobs immediately after graduation, pursue advanced training or higher education for technical and professional positions, or "transfer" skills to a variety of careers. Many home economics careers and technology graduates apply their education and knowledge as they move up the career ladder to become managers, employers, and entrepreneurs.
The real strength of California's home economics careers and technology programs is that they not only provide students with the background to get jobs , they also teach students how to be good employees: employees who understand how their industries works; employees who appreciate the relationship between themselves and their employers; employees who successfully balance their home and work lives.
