Meetings continued through the winter with educators, funders, writers, and writer-in-residence programs in New York, Houston and Seattle. Their advice helped give our program its final shape. And the Houston Writers In The Schools program-the most respected in the country-invited us, along with three other new residency programs, in Detroit, Missoula and Seattle, to join with them in the National Endowment for the Arts Apprenticeship Initiative.
