  • Students will communicate in a classical language. Students will gain knowledge and understanding of Greco-Roman culture. Students will develop insight into their own language and culture.
  • Standards: 1.1 Students read, understand, and interpret Latin or Greek. 1.2 Students use orally, listen to, and write Latin or Greek as part of the language learning process. 2.1 Students demonstrate an understanding of the perspectives of Greek or Roman culture as revealed in the practices of the Greeks and Romans. 4.1 Students recognize and use elements of the Latin or Greek language to increase knowledge of their own language. Location: The first class day will take place in the computer lab, or in the classroom if there are enough computers with web access for the entire class. Materials: Ecce Romani II ; computers with web access Performance Objective: Students will demonstrate basic knowledge about Roman baths. Instructional Objective: Students will answer questions about the introductory material about the baths and about the story "Marcus, Sextus, and Titus Go to the Neronean Baths."
