The maximum number of graduate credits in which a graduate student may enroll is 15 in a regular semester and 9 in a summer term. The total number of graduate and undergraduate credits in which a graduate student may be enrolled at LSUS concurrently is 19 during a regular semester and 10 in a summer term. Hunter Education is one of four Education programs offered to the public by the Information and Education Division of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.
The major objectives of the Hunter Education programs are:
  • Reduce the number of hunting accidents.
  • Improve the image of hunting through ethical and responsible conduct.
  • Promote the shooting sports. Who can participate? Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a Louisiana Hunter Education Certification Card that is recognized by all other states. How much does the course cost? The Hunter Education course is FREE. What is the curriculum? Major subjects are:
  • ethics and responsibility
  • wildlife management
  • firearms and ammunition
  • safety in the field
  • wildlife identification
  • wildlife conservation Who is required to take the hunter education course?
