The members and affiliated entities comprising the Native American Heritage Initiative and the NDN Rights Project work to address civil rights and heritage issues related to the indigenous peoples of the North America. It is well established that where indigenous persons are subjected to dehumanization that oppression and denial of civil rights, and the inability to enjoy the same benefits that are available to other members of society that the oppression only gets worse unless action is taken to restore the rights and an equal position in society. Where racially hostile environments are present the Native American Heritage Initiative and the NDN Rights Project utilize various forms of community mediation, and dialogue development programs, where community mediation, and dialogue development programs fail to bring resolution to issues and concerns related to indigenous peoples the matters are addressed through the judicial systems through a network of member attorneys and other legal professionals.

85. Parenting Magazine Features Insights Into Child Parenting And Child Development
Features articles on child development, behavior, discipline and other issues parents face. Written by a mom with a degree in psychology. Offers a mix of developmental psychology and native american thought.
http://www.parenting-child-development.com/
Parenting is important to you because your children matter. As a caring adult, you want to give your kids the best. So you strive to understand child development, child discipline and become a better parent. You work hard for your family and give them more than you had as a child. But have you ever asked yourself what you want from this relationship?
In your heart of hearts, if you imagined the best possible outcome for yourself, what would you foresee?
Would you feel fulfilled if your children grew up to honor, cherish and respect you?
Every parent would.
But how do you create this, especially if you don't enjoy a healthy relationship with your parents?
And how do you change the way you raise your kids, if you're flying blind and making it up as you go along?
Where did you learn how to raise kids anyway? Did you go to school and get a masters in child development?
Probably not. (And don't worry ... you don't need one.)
If you're like most of us, you learned child discipline from your parents, who learned from theirs.
While there's nothing wrong with this, especially if you had wise and loving role models, times have changed. Parenting strategies have evolved and our understanding of child development and child discipline has led us to become more insightful and humane.

Niagara Frontier Chapter
of Upstate Citizens for Equality
Serving Erie, Niagara, Chautauqua, Orleans, Genesee, Wyoming, Allegany, Monroe, Livingston, Steuben and Cattaraugus Counties. We are a growing organization of concerned citizens that stands against discrimination, and supports the reinstatement of free enterprise and equality in our communities. Our 5 point platform is: 1. We seek an expeditious and final resolution of all Indian land claims within the State of New York. 2. We seek the enforcement of New York State Tax Laws requiring the collection of sales tax by Indian merchants from non-Indian and non-member patrons.
We demand that the Governor enforce existing tax laws and not implement any new taxes or tax increases in New York State. As per the NYS Assn. of Convenience Stores, 1.4 Billion dollars have been lost due to not enforcing existing tax laws at tribal businesses. Gov. Pataki recently pulled $1.2 Billion from education out of the proposed budget. Because of the governor's proposed $1.4 billion cut to education funding, the average property tax levy statewide would have to go up 14 percent just to maintain current services.
