AIDS Niagara news ** Faced with ever dwindling government dollars, fundraising has been and will continue to be vital to the successful operation of AIDS Niagara. Special events and licensed lotteries continue to be the key components to AIDS Niagara's fundraising program. Special Events Walk For AIDS Highlighting special events is the annual Walk for AIDS (which is now called "AIDS Walk Canada"), directed by the Canadian AIDS Society. AIDS Walk Canada takes place in communities all across Canada each year at the end of September. September 24, 2000 was AIDS Niagara's 10th annual Walk. Our Annual walk has established itself as our major fundraising event. Licensed Events AIDS Niagara is involved with Bingo at the Skyway Bingo Hall on Bunting Rd. in St. Catherine's, and has Nevada ticket sites at various sites in Niagara. General Fundraising Direct mail, employee charity funds, wills and bequests, memorial donations, and grants (including United Way monies), are also important revenues for AIDS Niagara.
