Its task, as outlined by the two states, is to strengthen the regional port and, in so doing, to secure and protect Delaware Valley employment. It will achieve that goal by developing a regional port-facilities master plan, unifying the port's global marketing effort, improving operational efficiency, consolidating the labor-management decision-making process, introducing a strong customer-service ethic and helping the region build an integrated ship-rail-highway transportation network.

Special Science Teams: Inclusive Science for All Students by Carol James Imagine walking into a school where regular and special education students participate in standards-based, hands-on science activities on a regular basis. That's just what you would see if you were to walk into Washington School in Bayonne, New Jersey. Last summer Bayonne sent a team of two regular education and two special education teachers to participate in the Special Science Teams program offered at Rutgers University. As a result of that experience, the teachers at Washington School held four major interactive, inclusionary science events during the school year, in addition to the science activities that were conducted in individual classrooms throughout the year. Special Science Teams (SST) is a model professional development program funded by the National Science Foundation and Research for Better Schools. It targets general and special education teachers in grades K-6 who have special education students. SST incorporates the following components:
