http://www.ndus.nodak.edu/student_info/faq/default.asp
Q: I work during the day and have a family to care for, too. Is there any way I can still get a degree? A: Yes. Many NDUS campuses offer courses and complete degree programs through a variety of distance education mediums such as through the Internet, satellite, the Interactive Video Network, audio-conferencing, videotape, and correspondence. Accessing these options is described in the Distance Education section of this site.
Q: How many students are enrolled in the NDUS? A: Each fall, approximately 34,000 students enroll in one of the 11 institutions within the North Dakota University System. Campuses range in size from 700 students to 11,000 students so there is a campus for everyone. A more detailed enrollment report can be found in the section.
Q: I'm a home-schooled student. How will this affect my chances for admission to a college or university? A: The North Dakota University System recognizes that there are different ways to receive a high school education. However, the faculty and staff of NDUS campuses also recognize that there are certain indicators of post-secondary academic success. Therefore, guidelines have been established for home educated applicants. These guidelines can be found in the Academic Affairs Council's section on this web site. The

ConnectND is the PeopleSoft software system being configured to replace current computerized administrative functions that handle student administration on campuses, and human resource and financial applications throughout higher education and North Dakota state government. The various components of ConnectND are being phased in. Project Team managers have finalized initial implementation schedules for state agencies and higher education campuses. However, these schedules are subject to slight adjustment as specific issues determined through program testing are addressed within the state agency (Office of Management and Budget, Attorney General, Highway Patrol, and Human Services) and higher education (Mayville State University and Valley City State University) pilot sites. Payroll is "going live" in April 2003 for all employees of state general government and higher education pilot sites (Valley City and Mayville campuses, and the NDUS office) in North Dakota except those at the Bank of North Dakota, which is scheduled to join the fold in August. General government personnel will be paid a monthly check on May 1 for the work they performed during April. Higher education is using a twice-monthly system and its pilot site employees will receive checks on April 23 for the April 1-15 pay period. Core human resources and benefits programs will also come under the ConnectND administrative computer system during April across general government (except Bank of North Dakota) and at the Valley City and Mayville campuses and NDUS office.

Title: Legislative Update Legislators looking at ConnectND and state agency IT funding Posted by: James B. Ross on Friday, April 04, 2003 - 01:01 PM GMT Topic: Current News State lawmakers may be listening to higher education pleas for fairness in funding ConnectND. That was the perspective shared by Gov. John Hoeven and Chancellor Larry Isaak during the ConnectND Interactive Video Network update on Thursday, April 3. While the $20 million recommended by Governor Hoeven was still appropriated for the project in House Bill 1022, the House approved amendments that called for a transfer from the student loan trust fund and spending $3.6 million from the general fund for what is considered to be the state general government's share, and allowing the North Dakota University System to bond up to $16.4 million.
