Research Tools Unique to Hunter Library About Hunter Library Home Image courtesy of NASA Hours Staff Databases available in the Map Room Geographical and map sites of interest The Hunter Library Map Room, located on the lower mezzanine, has a collection of over 113,000 sheet maps, 657 atlases, a variety of gazetteers and reference books, as well as CD-ROM and microfiche resources. Hunter Library is a depository library for maps produced by the U.S. Geological Survey, National Image Mapping Agency, National Ocean Survey, and a variety of other federal agencies. In addition, the Map Room maintains a travel collection which includes highway maps, travel guides, and brochures for the US and most other countries of the world. Atlases, sheet maps, and travel literature circulate for three days. The Map Room also has available for patron use ArcView and MapInfo GIS (Geographic Information Systems) software to support GIs based projects and information needs.
