MisterHouse Topic: Perl Programming MisterHouse is an open source home automation program. It's fun, it's free, and it's entirely geeky. Written in Perl, it fires events based on time, web, socket, voice, and serial data. It currently runs on Windows 95/98/NT/2k/XP and on most Unix platforms, including Linux.
Perl subroutines and objects are used to give a powerful programming interface. Here is some example code:
$fountain = new X10_Item 'B1';
set $fountain ON if time_now '6:00 PM';
$movement_sensor = new Serial_Item 'XA2', 'stair'; play(file =gt 'stairs_creek*.wav') if state_now $movement_sensor eq 'stair'; $v_bedroom_curtain = new Voice_Cmd '[open,close] the bedroom curtains'; curtain('bedroom', $state) if $state = said $v_bedroom_curtain;

course schedule sorted by: location or date course number delivery method This course is taught in two different delivery methods: 1. Remote Assisted Instructional Learning (RAIL). RAIL uses the exact same instructors, courseware, and lab equipment as the traditional instructor led classes. The only difference is you consume the training from the location of your choice. Never spend a dime or waste your time to travel to attend a RAIL course. We bring the training experience to you. The lecture is delivered over the enhanced HP Virtual Classroom environment by skilled instructors, leveraging the audio and video capabilities of the HPVC technology. When it's time for lab, you connect remotely into our HP-UX systems and away you go. 2. Instructor-led Training (ILT) is conducted in one of our many HP Education Center traditional "brick and mortar" classrooms. Our expert instructors, rated by past students, as among the most knowledgeable and proficient at teaching, are physically located in the same room as the students. From state-of-the art classrooms, instructors present the course material using slides, which is enhanced by student manuals, handouts, and hands-on lab exercises.
