General Information Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) Can I just take individual courses?
Yes, anytime on a "first come, first serve" basis. What is a Professional Certificate Curriculum?
PSU's noncredit Certificate Programs are a professionally formatted series of courses and workshops incorporated into a complete professional curriculum. All of the Certificate programs are developed by The Environmental Professional Program staff as well as university and public / private advisors in cooperation with a broad base of respected and dedicated instructors. How will a Certificate benefit me?
The actual value of your a Certificate curriculum ultimately is up to you. The Certificate is a demonstration of your commitment and interest, your familiarity with highly esteemed instructors, and your knowledge of the integrated Certificate content. Additionally, the trainings provide a rich source of contacts that you make with your instructors and professional classmates. It will be your task to effectively demonstrate the skills that you have learned (while your employer or your business uses your Certificate to justify the qualifications of its staff.)

To summarize, you will earn a professional development certificate of completionand, though fellow students and instructors, build your network of business
http://www.pdc.pdx.edu/projman/faqs.shtml
What's the difference between the two certificates? The project management certificate is intended for new and experienced project managers who either have had no formal education in project management, limited training, or want a comprehensive refresher on project essentials. Most program participants have some experience as project managers, though newcomers to the field can benefit tremendously from the program. The advanced certificate is intended for experienced project managers who have completed our main program or an equivalent. Advanced offerings assume you already have strong planning, management, and team leadership skills. You should also be familiar with the Project Management Institute (PMI) and its methodology, the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK). The goal of the advanced program is to delve more deeply into specific subject areas such as risk management, procurement, quality management, and cost estimating, with special attention to how these subjects are covered in the PMBOK. I'm an experienced project manager. Should I skip ahead to the advanced program?

78. Continuing Professional Development Of General Practitioners In Europe
CPD Continuing professional development of general Practitioners inEurope PREAMBLE. general Practice enjoys ever greater recognition
http://www.uemo.org/policy/cpd_continuing_professional_developm.htm
CPD - Continuing Professional Development of General Practitioners in Europe PREAMBLE General Practice enjoys ever greater recognition within health care systems in Europe. In parallel with this, demands for quality in the health care services delivered by General Practice are also increasing. The continuing professional development (CPD) of General Practitioners is an inevitable prerequisite for the maintenance and development of this quality. DEFINITION The term CPD in this document is used to mean the maintenance and development of the professional competence of the individual general practitioner. CPD should be understood as the activity by which the individual doctor updates his knowledge about, orientation on, and responsible practice of medicine in general practice including management, communication and relationship issues. Evidence has shown that general practitioners make considerable efforts to maintain their competence in the daily work. Expertise in new competencies grounded in the needs which becomes evident within the daily professional challenge are set in focus while competencies not central to that challenge are set aside. RESPONSIBILITY It is the responsibility of the individual general practitioner to make optimal use of resources (time, finance, the profession's taking care of) which in the given national system are set aside for CPD. This is achieved by enabling the GPs themselves explicitly identify their personal learning needs and select their CPD activities accordingly. Explicit evaluation of the success of this process as well as registration of the activities are necessary links in the quality assurance of the CPD process.

Professional Development in General Practice
Edited by DAVID PENDLETON and JOHN HASLER

Continuing medical education and audit are currently the principal methods for maintaining and improving standards in primary care. Although each has had limited success the relevance to everyday practice of their approach and content is being questioned. Professional development in general practice is expected to be at the heart of training and development work in the primary health care team for many years to come. It takes a practical approach encompassing techniques such as strategic planning workshops, improving consultation skill, learning from experts, peer review, quality assurance, and mentoring. This book provides a practical guide to this approach, with advice on how and when it should be used and example case studies, and is well referenced and jargon-free.
  • Professional development is becoming central to training in the primary health care team
  • Edited by a regional adviser in general practice and a business psychology consultant
  • Innovative
