PRINTING FABRIC USING YOUR INKJET PRINTER
By Susan Wigley
The first thing you need to do is starch the fabric until it is very stiff, then cut it into 8 ½” x 11” sheets. If your images are small, you can layout several images on a page then print the image(s) you want by putting the fabric in the paper tray & running it through your inkjet printer. For best results, starch the "wrong" side of the fabric & print on the "right" side of the fabric. That will allow the ink to penetrate the fibers rather than sit on the surface of the starch.
Congratulations! You have just learned more new techniques!
Testimonials:
That was exactly what I wanted!!! I am now out to buy some material and I know
these will be the right length. I do appreciate your interest, thank you so
much.
I have the pants all cut out and ready to sew tomorrow. When I was
doing it I realized that I would have taken it in on both sides but then my
waistline would have shrunk a couple of inches and that would have been that.

Roth and Chris Schulz Fibers and Fabrics Fabric Descriptions and Fabric Care Suggestions Pre-treat! We recommend that you pre-treat all fabrics using the same cleaning method that you plan to use for the completed garment. Even dry cleaning can produce shrinkage! If you are uncertain about whether or not your fabric is washable or dry cleanable, test a small piece. Remember, each fabric is unique! If your cleaning method is washing, then your zippers, trims and interfacings should also be pretreated. Non-fusible interfacings may be pretreated with the fabric. Fusible interfacings should be pretreated by soaking them in hot tap water for 20 to 30 minutes. Roll in a towel to remove excess water, then hang or lay flat to dry. Natural Fibers and Fabric Cotton Fibers and Fabric Strong, absorbent, fabric that wrinkles easily. Dyes well. Shrinks unless specially treated. Deteriorated by mildew and weakened in sunlight.

We suggest every 8 hours of sewing or every project. You will notice this when sewingyour project, the stitch will look irregular and the seam may pucker.
http://www.elnausa.com/faqs/sewing.shtml

Q. How often should I change my machine needle?
A. First, let us say that you should always match the machine needle to the thread and the fabric being used for the project. It is always best to test on scrap fabric before moving onto the project. As for how often to change the needle, there are varying opinions on this matter. We suggest every 8 hours of sewing or every project.
Q. Why is it necessary to change the needle this often?
A. Needles do become dull after a period of time and use. You will notice this when sewing your project, the stitch will look irregular and the seam may pucker. Also, it is possible for a burr to appear on a needle due to hitting a pin, running the machine too fast, or pushing and pulling the fabric. Both of these problems will result in possible damage to the fabric, which in turn could possibly ruin your project.
