face scrub - Soap replacement to rid acne and its scarring, wrinkles, dry or oily skin SKIN PROBLEMS DUE TO IMPROPER EXFOLIATION 1) Excess oil 2) Bacterial growth 3) Inflammation 4) Irritation 5) Breakouts 6) Wrinkles 7) Acne Scarring that does not clear up If you have any of the seven skin problems listed above, or other problems not mentioned, you probably are not cleaning and/or exfoliating your skin properly. Most people with skin problems never use an exfoliator or maybe using the wrong one. The facial skin MUST be exfoliated properly to prevent any and all of the above skin problems. Soap is a good cleanser, but cannot be successfully used on delicate facial skin. Wrinkles will not disappear, acne will not go away or can be made worse by using soaps, pimples will sometimes become more prominent. All Soap, natural or not, contains heavy oils and lye that can damage skin and clog pores. Our soap replacer contains only all natural grains and herbs that greatly exfoliates dirt, excessive oil, and dead skin, leaving the facial skin smooth, soft and blemish free. Once a day use is all that is needed for this product. Use the same way you use soap, only apply with the hands and not a washcloth, rinse off with warm water and apply the wrinkle cream or acne oils. Your skin will feel smoother, softer and look more vibrant after one application of these grains.

A new treatment could be available in 15 years
Scientists have discovered a common element in 70% of malignant skin cancers which could become a revolutionary new treatment. Experts have high hopes for the discovery because the previously unknown mutation is very similar to another that helps cause a type of leukaemia. In trials, a drug which blocks that gene has already been outstandingly successful in treating leukaemia patients. The defect is not inherited and no-one yet knows what causes it, but it is believed to be a very powerful mutation.
It could be a direct lead to new treatments for malignant melanoma
Professor Mike Stratton, Cancer Genome Project If it can be isolated, it is hoped it can be turned into a treatment for malignant melanoma. The breakthrough, announced in an online report from the journal Nature, is the first to emerge from the Cancer Genome Project, based at Hinxton, Cambridgeshire.

Helping people reduce their risks of skin cancer and cataract
A practical guide for using the global solar UV index
Overexposure to solar ultraviolet (UV) radiation is responsible for two major public health problems: skin cancer and cataract. Between 2 and 3 million non-melanoma skin cancers and at least 132,000 malignant melanomas occur globally each year. There has been a significant increase in the incidence of skin cancers since the 1970s. A changing lifestyle and sun-seeking behaviour are responsible for much of the increase in skin cancers. Depletion of the ozone layer, which provides a protective filter against UV radiation, aggravates the problem. "Very simple and inexpensive protection measures, such as wearing a shirt, hat, sunglasses and sunscreen and seeking shade during midday hours can significantly reduce the risk of these conditions," reports Intersun, WHO's Global UV Project. "Such measures could eliminate up to 70% of skin cancers in several countries." Sun exposure may also be responsible for more than 2 million cases of blindness due to cataract worldwide. Furthermore, UV radiation may impair immune function which could enhance the risk of infections and limit the efficacy of vaccination programmes.

CFC Accord May Avert Skin Cancer Epidemic
Page 1 of 1
08:00 PM Nov. 25, 1996 PT A skin cancer epidemic in the next century will probably be averted thanks to an international accord to phase out ozone-damaging industrial chemicals, Dutch researchers say. Strict protocols on CFCs and other ozone-depleting chemicals adopted under the 1992 Copenhagen agreement will drastically reduce the risk of skin cancer, researchers at the Institute of Public Health in the Netherlands report in this week's issue of Nature
Story Tools
Today's Top 5 Stories
If there were no restrictions on ozone-depleting halocarbon emissions, "skin-cancer risks could quadruple by the year 2100," researchers say. Using a model that follows each link in the chain of risks triggered by ozone depletion to evaluate the consequences of chemical bans proposed under the 1985 Vienna Convention, the 1987 Montreal Protocol, and the Copenhagen Amendments, the researchers found that only the stricter protocols adopted in Copenhagen would avert a health crisis. Even the much-heralded CFC bans achieved in Montreal by then-President Ronald Reagan and other leaders could mean "a doubled risk of skin cancer by 2100," the study says.
