Accessibility in: London: Museums and tourist spots HOTELS
Accomodations in the United Kingdom, expecially in London, it is usually expensive. London is a very wide town and to stay in a centrally located hotel it will help you to move easily. Many hotels in London have "adapted" rooms but sometime these rooms can not be suitable for anybody expecially if the adaptations were made many years ago.
The hotels we are dealing with are fully accessible, they have no stairs or steps on the way to the rooms, the lifts are wide and our disabled guests will be able to move all around the buildings. The rooms we book for people with disability have usually roll-in shower and WC with grabs. The hotels have usually 1 or 2 accessible rooms but there are hotels with many accessible rooms up to 10.. TRANSPORTS The public transport system in the main United Kingdom towns are generally well organized and in London the network includes the underground railway.

General Information The UK responded to the 1994 EU Directive on Packaging and Packaging Waste by way of derivative legislation "The Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Regulations 1997". The UK in contrast to other EU states has chosen a very unique system. All participants in the chain share the statutory responsibility. The system is open to competition and there are a number of "compliance schemes" to ensure this. Schemes started in 1997, obligated companies have a choice of registration with a "compliance scheme" or direct registration with the Environment Agency or Scottish Environment Protection Agency or, in Northern Ireland, the Environment and Heritage Service. Either way they will need to register obligatorily under the regulations, but a compliance scheme acts as an intermediary. Seventeen compliance schemes have been registered by the Environment Agency or SEPA and some also operate in Northern Ireland and by the Office of Fair Trading to ensure fair competition. The UK does not operate a "Green Dot Scheme" along the lines of its European counterparts. The use of the trademark is licensed in the UK for those organisations wishing to display the emblem but the use of the mark is not obligatory in the UK. Management of the trademark is carried out by a subsidiary of Valpak, the Green Dot Licensing Company, and similar licensing arrangements are open to other compliance schemes for their own membership.

General Information about Mousehole, Cornwall, United Kingdom
In winter, the harbour entrance is closed by sturdy wooden beams to keep the force of the sea at bay and to protect the village. In past times, the villagers have suffered the effects of winter storms on their harbour and one of these events is commemorated annually shortly before Christmas on "Tom Babcock's Eve" where a monstrous fish pie is baked and consumed by the patrons of the Inn on the quayside. This event, which becomes a major village party, attracts visitors from both the surrounding district and from all over the world.
Just offshore outside the harbour is a small rocky islet where once an ancient hermit was said to live. A few hundred yards along the coast from the village lies a huge cave which - so some people say - gives rise to the name of the village (Mouse Hole!). While this is unlikely, the origin of the name continues to be a topic of much curiosity. A small and very safe beach is located in a sheltered part of the harbour, which is popular with families, particularly those with small children. Beyond Mousehole, the road from Penzance beads off inland, while the Coastal Footpath continues on towards the narrow cove of Lamorna

Smear test (cervical smear)
The smear test (cervical smear, pap smear) is a screening test which allows doctors to predict those women who are likely to develop cancer of the neck of the womb (carcinoma of the cervix) in time to prevent it developing.
Background
Cancer of the neck of the womb (carcinoma of the cervix) is one of the commonest cancers affecting women. It causes a significant number of deaths each year. It has been found that looking at a tiny number of the cells from the neck of the womb (cervix) allows us to predict those people who are likely to develop cancer later on. Looking at the cells in this way is called cervical cytology.
Target population
The women most at risk of cancer of the cervix are those who are or have been sexually active, and in the UK, women between the ages of 20 and 65 are offered the opportunity of a cervical smear at regular intervals.
Procedure
The sample for the test is taken by a doctor or nurse, who examines you internally. Sometimes this will involve you lying on your back, with your legs bent up and apart, and sometimes lying on your left side with your legs bent up. The doctor or nurse may examine you internally, with a hand, but the smear test involves inserting a plastic or metal instrument (speculum) into the vagina, which holds the walls of the vagina open, so that they can see the neck of the womb (cervix). A wooden or plastic device (spatula), which is usually little more than a specially shaped lolly/popsicle stick, is then stroked round the opening in the neck of the womb.
