Bunkie Middle School students visited Avoyelles Parish's Hypolite Bordelon House as part of their Social Studies curriculum. Afterward, with their teacher's assistance, the class produced a historic preservation coloring book. First published in 1989 through a partnership between the Division of Historic Preservation and the state Department of Education, the information took the form of a printed supplement to the eighth grade Louisiana Studies Curriculum Guide. A few years later the material was added to the Division of Historic Preservation's web site.
