(ReLIS:jul:tmthpg:y:2000:v:19:i:4:p:180-185) Abstract: Much of the content of the University of Washington Libraries' Information Gateway is generated from an SQL database extracted from the libraries' OPAC. The database, known locally as the Digital Registry, drives multiple services on the Information Gateway. My Gateway is the personalized component of the Information Gateway and provides a way for users to create their own views of the Registry and to integrate their own URLs into those views. This article describes the My Gateway service, its architecture, and procedures for content selection and maintenance for the Registry database. Future development plans and lessons learned are also discussed.

What's New in Find-It! Find Consumer Information Access Washington Washington State Library ... About the Virtual Government Documents Catalog This database includes government publications from Washington state and the Pacific Northwest, including Alaska, Oregon, Idaho, and British Columbia. It includes selected books, pamphlets, and documents created by state and local government agencies; some of the material was created by federal agencies. This search tool will tell you which libraries in Washington state own these published, non-electronic government information items. Your search results will tell you about the items. You will not be able to link to them directly. To borrow the items, visit the library listed for the item or ask for a loan through your local library. This tool is brought to you by the Washington State Library GILS Project If you are using this search tool please contact Tamera Meyer with any comments, suggestions or problems. Technical enhancements: We are in the process of replacing the above database with an open source library system currently being developed by the Learning Access Institute. The new database will allow us to refresh the bibliographic data on a more frequent and regular schedule. And, the new database and web interface will allow greater flexibility in searches of local and state government documents held in Washington libraries.

Necrology
In Memory of our Friend and Colleague
Nathan Eakin, 1932-2000
Nathan Eakin first began the Gaylord Music Library Necrology file as a card file in the mid-1980s. ( Inquiries concerning this information are welcome.) In 1991, the project moved to a word processing file and in 1995, became available as a web page. The column published in the Music Library Association's journal, Notes , called the Necrology Index , is extracted from this Necrology file. The goal is to report what appears in the current music media as it arrives in Gaylord Music Library. We attempt to maintain this file daily. (The "Last update:" date below refers to updates to this page only Since death notices often contain conflicting dates, ages, and name forms, all are reported. Alternate name spellings are listed in square brackets. Citations follow the data they have provided.
