Right now Buddy is pretty small, he only weighs 1.5 oz ...but he's supposed to get pretty good size, up to 4 lbs! So I'll add more pictures to this gallery as he grows, but he is so cute, and such fun, I just had to share this stage with you!
These pictures were taken through the glass of his cage, so please forgive the reflections. And I hope you enjoy watching him grow as much as I'm going to! Zach

College Lizards We had two Water Dragon lizards in the Biology Lab but they became very ill with metabolic bone disease, due to a serious lack of calcium in their diet. We gave them various fluids and antibiotics as well as stomach tube feeding the smaller water dragon, but sadly she did not recover and died shortly afterwards. The vet's bills came to an enormous amount of money and although this was paid, we needed some essential things to keep the remaining dragon well and happy. New climbing equipment would have had to be provided because these lizards are very active and love to climb. Secondly, a new water dragon was needed, as the remaining reptile had been with other lizards all its life and had been showing signs of boredom and loneliness, and had become lethargic. Water dragons are quite social creatures and our remaining dragon needed a companion. We had a cookie day to raise money for the new equipment and new water dragon. However, there was a change of plan. After the Christmas holidays we returned to find that the dragon had stopped eating crickets and returned to its old diet of mealworms. Mealworms contain an indigestible substance called chitin, and so are not very good for the lizard.

News Green Water Dragon Physignathus Cocincinus Green Water Dragons are relatively large the males can grow to 3ft in length from snout to tail and the females just a little smaller. Green Water Dragons are among the most suitable pet lizards. They are colourful, easy to handle, settle well into captivity, and, given the right conditions, will breed for their keeper. Being relatively small compared to different types of lizards, their accommodation needs are also small, therefore, they are easy to keep whether you live in a big house or a small bedsit. Green Water Dragons also are unlikely to destroy vivarium plants. Vivarium Conditions Vivarium Size Min 48 x 30 x 36in (120 x 75 x 90cm) Substrate Mixed potting compost, leaf litter and sphagnum moss 4in (10cm) deep Habitat Branches for climbing, pool for drinking and bathing Temperature between 82 - 88F during the day and a little bit cooler at night between 75-82F photo-period around 14 hours, provide a full UVB light and a Basking Lamp.

14. Lizards Rule Page (water Dragon Care)
. Chinese water dragons are medium sized lizards attaining a maximum...... the chinese water dragon care sheet!!!
http://members.tripod.com/~chlamydosaurus/watercare.htm
Here's the chinese water dragon care sheet!!!
Description
Chinese water dragons are medium sized lizards attaining a maximum total length of about 38 inches. Males are larger than females. These lizards look very similar to iguanas. The dorsal coloration of adult water dragons is olive-green to green, with several dark brown to almost black bands on the tail. Adult male water dragons can be distinguished from females by their enlarged jowls, larger spines on the crests, and larger femoral pores on the undersides of the hind legs.
Habitat
Water dragons are native to South China and Indo China. In nature, water dragons usually live in forests, especially near water.
Cage Setup
The size of the cage should be at least 3 times longer than the lengths of the dragons. Water dragons are very active and will be stressed if housed in small cages. The recommended size is 6' X 3' X 3'. Water dragons need a big water container as they love to be in water. Thick branches are recommended where they can bask and rest. Water must be kept between 75 - 85F. A basking spot and UVB lighting are needed for these lizards. Ambient temperature should be between 78 - 85F with a basking spot of up to 90F. Night temperature can be as low as 75F.
Diet
Water dragons are both carnivorous and herbivorous although more carnivorous than herbivorous. All food items must be smaller than half the size of a dragon's head. Water dragons can't open their mouths very wide. Hatchlings and juveniles should be fed everyday and adults should be fed every 2 to 3 days. Food items include: fruits, veges, crickets, meal worms, earth worms, grass hoppers, and pinkies.

Physignathus lesueurrii
Image Gallery P. lesueurrii FAQ
(A male with his harem. A lone female.)
Range
This species lives only in the far eastern part of Australia from Eastern Victoria in the South to Cairns, Queensland, in the North. The range of this lizard is limited by several factors:
  • there must be water basins (called billabong in Australia) or rivers very nearby.
  • there must be a period of at least six months in which daytime maxima are 24*C or over. Therefore this lizard is lacking in Cape York or Arnhemland. This species definitely does not occur in New Guinea, as some importers have you believe. Within the range of this species night frost may occur or even occur regularly (like in Bourse, NSW).
    Appearance
Males get larger than females. Males reach a total length of 2 ½ to 3 feet, and females reach 2 to 2 ½ feet in total length. The males are very beautifully colored. It is a pity that in several books, like the " Giant Lizard Book," only females are depicted. Males get a crest in the neck region and they get a blood red color on their belly and upper forelimbs, like can be seen in the picture above. They have larger heads than females and the black/white design on the male's head is very strongly expressed: white lips and a deep black band behind their eyes. Females have smaller heads, dull white lips, a gray-black band behind the eye and white to pinkish bellies.
