All About Me    My name is Patrick Toney.  I am 36 years old, and as I said on my first page, I am a special educator. I have been teaching for about 14 years.  I taught  for three years in West Virginia (where I am originally from), and the last eleven in Virginia. I was born on March 4, 1965 in Charleston, WV.  I am the youngest of six children.  We lived in Cabin Creek, WV until I was 5 years old, when we moved to Marmet, WV into an old plantation house.  When I was 18, we then moved again to Cross Lanes, WV which is a suburb of Charleston.   I am very fortunate to have had two terrific and supportive parents growing up.  My dad, Dan Toney, was a personnel director for a mining company and my mom, Ann Toney, was a housewife.  I have nothing but good memories of my childhood and all my family did together.  My dad sadly passed away unexpectedly on November 11, 1999.  He was 72 and is still very much missed. My brothers and sister and I still keep in touch and we are pretty much scattered "in and around" West Virginia.  My oldest brother, Max, lives in the Elkins, WV area.  He has four children and two grandchildren.  My brother Dan lives in the Charleston area and has two grown children who are both married.  My brother Nelson passed away at the age of 42, but had one son.  My sister, Debra, has two children and lives in Fayette County, WV.  My brother Scott has three children and lives in Charlotte, NC.  That means I have 12 nieces/nephews and 2 great-nieces!
